Time and Relative Dimension in Space

One night during my senior year in college I had a vision of a painting, a complex extrapolation of a geometric visual style I had been working in. I made a rough sketch, then a few months later fleshed it out a little bit and started building the painting. Unfortunately, the design proved to be so complex that choosing the colors was almost impossible, so the painting was shelved and remained that way for nearly a decade.

But a couple of years ago, after copying the design to my computer, I began working with it again. The computer allowed me to gain much better color control, and after working with it on and off for several months, I arrived at the final design of Time and Relative Dimension in Space, and the painting process was restarted.

TARDIS was finished at the beginning of November, 2008. Read the "finish line" blog entry here and click here to view a slideshow of the painting through its lifetime, as well as the final piece.
